The fun thing about love is, you never know what bookstore, church, coffee shop or website you may meet your future husband or wife. Or in this case, cubicles. Brooks & Lisa were just a few cubicles away from starting a blossoming love affair. It doesn’t matter if these two are betting each other over backgammon or treaking it up to Lake Tahoe. Their friendship and love has set them on a path to marriage.

I had fun getting to know these two laid back love birds while exploring the Japanese Friendship Garden. There are so many favorite shots from their session, but I can’t share them all. So here are a handful of them. Enjoy!

Aniyah is turning one! I have had the chance of photographing her before she even made her way into the world. You may remember the maternity session and her newborn session. But in a few short weeks, Aniyah will be ONE and I can’t believe how fast time flies. I met Aniyah and her mom at Ed Levin Park and we got some amazing photographs of Aniyah. Marquita & Simon - Engagement Session - Lake Chabot

I’ve had the chance of meeting Marquita & Simon twice. How does that even make sense you ask? Well, you see, the first time we met for their engagement session I spent twenty minuets with them before it started raining cats & dogs. We decided it just may be best to wait a few months until the weather cleared up :)

Three months later and here we are. This time, amazing weather in April at Lake Chabot. This time I felt I had all the time in the world to get to know these two. Marquita & Simon met in high school (sophomore year). When Simon tells the story, Marquita courted him, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Simon says he knows Marquita was going to be his wife,very early on. These two are tying the knot in Vegas at the beautiful Bellagio. I can’t wait to hear all about the wedding. But in the meantime, here are my favorites from the engagement session!

The Menon's - Japanese Friendship Garden

My favorite part of being a photographer, is that I get to meet amazing people from all walks of life. I love hearing the stories of how people met, fell in love and started a family. This rings true when I met the Menon’s. Their lives started years ago in India, when introduced by a mutual friend. Fast forward through friendship & marriage they are now preparing to be parents. I hope I get to meet the little one and soon as she makes her way into the world!

The Putnam Family - Woodside

It was a busy day for the Putnam family when I met them on their property in Woodside. There’s a soapbox race in a few weeks and Mr. Putnam was busy building cars for his kids. When we got him away from his daddy duties we got some amazing images of this beautiful family.

Erika & Jason - Engagement Session - San Francisco

Everyone has their analogies about how life and love works. Some compare it to a movie, or a book or even photography. But Jason, Jason compares life and love to sports, basketball in particular. Jason has found his teammate or MVP,Erika. You have to say, it is a sweet reference.

Erika & Jason are getting married in September and I can’t wait for their wedding. Just seeing the two of them together, I know their wedding is going to be full of fun and laughs. We met at Crissy Fields and spent the first half of the session getting to know each other, we kept it casual while we moved up and down the court, I mean the beach.

We did a quick outfit change during half-time and headed over to the Palace of Fine Arts. I had so much fun with the two of them, here are a few of my favorites.

Duncan & Zoe - Maternity Session - Quicksilver Park

Every couple or family I meet, just makes me realize how blessed I am to be a photographer. I am able to document a part of their life that they will look back on over and over again. When Duncan called, he said he wanted to schedule a maternity session, but not just any maternity session. Duncan and his wife Zoe wanted to document what they were having or also called a gender revealing session.

What is a gender revealing maternity session? Well its when, the parents have no idea what they are having. Duncan and Zoe had the results sealed in an envelope for weeks, but wanted to capture the surprise during their maternity session.

We met at Quicksilver park, and did a few portraits prior to the reveal. I got to know about Duncan, and Zoe both from the UK. You could tell they are super excited to be parents. Duncan and Zoe said from day one they considered their baby to be a “he”. But they had names for both a girl or boy in mind. After some natural portraits we headed to a hill above the park for the reveal. They handed me the envlope and I was to put the corresponding “it’s a girl” or “it’s a boy” balloon in the bag.

I was so excited that I got to know what they were having before they did! This blog post will include all of my favorite images up until the big reveal. They are keeping the gender from family and friends up until the very last moment. So I promised not to spoil it. I can’t wait to meet Duncan and Zoe’s little one. Check back in a few months to find out if they’re having a girl or a boy!

Mr. & Mrs. McGowan - Japanese Friendship Gardens - San Jose

These two were married last week at San Jose city hall,surrounded by family and friends. After the ceremony we snuck away to the Japanese Friendship Gardens in San Jose. Liatt & Sauly - Engagement Session - San Francisco

Liatt, is a teacher who is passionate about her students. Sauly, works in the family business and has a cat who Liatt claims he loves more than her. What the two of them have in common is their love of the San Francisco Giant’s and their love for each other. I met up with the two of them in San Francisco on a beautiful windy day. We started the session right in front of AT&T Park. We roamed around the AT&T Park grounds, the pier and surrounding streets. It was a blast getting to know them and their love story. Congrats on the engagement you two, I can’t wait to hear all about the wedding!

Amy & Irene are in what I like to call the honeymoon stage. Just think back to the time you’ve experienced love at the earliest stages. Giggles, butterflies, tons of hugs and kisses. That was Amy & Irene at their shoot. I couldn’t get enough, they were so cute. I loved hearing how they met (at one of Irene’s hockey games) and what they love to do together.
